Your band profile

TVMS lists artists who play in the Tri-Valley. If you’ve performed at a local venue, or have a show confirmed here, you belong in the directory.

37%

of all page views on TVMS go to band profiles and the band directory, more than the calendar itself. Your profile is where fans are already looking.

More than 700 bands already have a profile, created automatically the first time one of their gigs landed on the calendar. Yours may be waiting for you. From there, add photos, a bio, genres, streaming and social links, and a video playlist.

Bookings come from venues. Your profile makes sure fans and bookers can find you, hear you, and see where you’re playing next.

The life of a gig

From the moment you submit a show to the night you play it.

  1. 1

    You submit it

Date, start time, venue, lineup, and ticket link, through the Submit Your Gig form.

  2. 2

    We match the venue

Shows at venues already in the directory publish automatically. A venue that’s new to TVMS gets a quick review first.

  3. 3

    It goes live

The show gets its own page and appears on the calendar, the venue’s page, and your band page, with every act on the bill linked.

  4. 4

    It gets shared

Upcoming shows go out in the Tuesday and Friday newsletters and across the TVMS Facebook community.

  5. 5

    You play it

Your profile gets a “This Week” highlight. Afterward, the show stays in your gig history and keeps your profile active.

Venues submit shows too, so your gig may already be listed. If you’re not sure, submit it anyway and we’ll merge any duplicates.

Plans changed? Email mark@trivalleymusicscene.com. Cancelled and postponed shows stay on the calendar, clearly marked, so fans know what’s happening.

When to submit, and when to share

  • Submit as soon as the date is confirmed. Half of all shows are listed 17 days or fewer before the night, so a show listed early stands out and has more time on the calendar and in search results.
  • Share your show page on the day. Friday and Saturday are the busiest days on the site, and 4 p.m. is the busiest hour. Fans often decide that same night.
  • Keep details exact. Fans often decide that afternoon, and seven in ten check on a phone, so the start time and ticket link need to be right the first time they look.
302

gigs were submitted directly by bands and venues in the first year of TVMS.

Active and inactive profiles

  • Active means you have a listed Tri-Valley show within the past 24 months, or one coming up.
  • Inactive profiles stay on the site. They appear dimmed in the directory, with a note inviting an update.
  • Status updates automatically every night. The moment your next show is listed, you’re active again. There’s nothing to request.

Community Favorites

Fans vote for the bands they love. Standings are based on votes alone, so every band starts on equal footing.

  • Votes happen on your profile page. Sharing your TVMS profile link is the easiest way to invite fans to vote.
  • Voting is open to fans in the Bay Area, with per-device limits that keep the standings fair.
  • Bands on the Rise highlights bands gaining momentum over the past week, marked with a flame across the site.

Extra promotion for your show

Listings are always free. For shows you want to push further, optional promotion is available right inside the Submit Your Gig form.

Promotion can include a home page feature, a newsletter spotlight, shares across the TVMS Facebook community and partner groups, and site-wide placement when you have a flyer. No flyer? We’ll build a clean TVMS show card for you.

  • The Tuesday and Friday newsletters

Find your venue

Your venue page

Every venue that hosts live music in the Tri-Valley gets a free page, and it stays free.

Your page shows upcoming shows, recent performers, photos, hours, location, and fan votes. Fans use it to plan their night. Bands use it to learn what kind of music you book.

Getting your shows on the calendar

  • Submit your shows through the Submit Your Gig form, one show or a whole month at a time.
  • Your performers can submit too. Shows that bands submit for your venue appear on your page automatically.
  • Partners can hand it off. With a partner plan, TVMS checks your calendar every week and keeps your listings current for you.

Every show you host gets its own page, and appears on the calendar, your venue page, and each performer’s page. Upcoming shows go out in the Tuesday and Friday newsletters and across the TVMS Facebook community.

Cancellations: email mark@trivalleymusicscene.com and we’ll mark the show cancelled or postponed on the calendar.

Submit shows

When fans are looking

  • Submit your schedule a month or more ahead. Half of all shows are listed 17 days or fewer before the night, so early listings stand out and have more time to be found.
  • Fans plan late in the week. Friday and Saturday are the busiest days on the site, and 4 p.m. is the busiest hour, often for a show that same night.
  • Tuesday is ready for more music. Tuesday draws 13% of the week’s website visits but only 3% of its shows. People are browsing on Tuesdays, and there isn’t much for them to find yet.

More on who’s looking and where, in State of the Scene 2026.

Active venues and taking a break

  • Active means your venue has a listed show within the past 24 months, or one coming up.
  • Inactive venue pages stay on the site and appear dimmed in the directory. Status refreshes every night, and your next listed show makes you active again.
  • Pausing live music? Let us know and we’ll mark your page “Not Currently Booking.” When the music returns, so does your full listing.

Fan votes and rankings

Fans vote for their favorite venues from each venue page. Rankings are based on votes alone.

A strong ranking tells fans and bands alike that your room is a great place for live music. Sharing your TVMS venue page with your regulars is the simplest way to build it.

Partnering with TVMS

Free listings stay free. Partners keep the platform running, and get more of TVMS working for them.

  • Hands-off calendar. We check your calendar every week and list new shows for you, so your page is always current.
  • Featured placement on the website, where the regulars look.
  • Features in the Facebook community and mentions in the newsletter.
  • Creative designed by TVMS.

Every plan is month-to-month.
